Rob's dad and step-mom live in Raleigh and we love getting to travel east to see them. The weekend after Dallas we woke up bright and early and headed to the airport. The kids have no problems getting up early if they get to get on a plane.
Georgia spent our layover in Atlanta loving on her favorite guy.
Cooper was a huge helper with all of our bags and carseats.
Georgia girl was pretty tired when we got to their house. She settled right in in Nana Linda's little rocking chair. It was the hit of the weekend. The kids loved getting to sit in her chair from when she was a little girl.
Patiently waiting for Papa Jerry to get home.
The next day they treated us to a morning at Hillridge Farms. It is similar to Orr Family Farms and it was wonderful
Cooper loved the bouncer.
And despite being on a strict schedule of one train trip every hour Gabby was able to weasel her way into her own private ride.
They had this HUGE slide. I think Cooper could have spent all day going down it. He even convinced Papa Jerry to give it a try.
Of course Hummer joined us for all the fun. The resident farm cat was not a fan though.
Instead of a sand box they had this box of corn kernels. Gabby was in heaven.
IT took a little convincing but she finally tried a pony ride. She is one interesting cookie she is not afraid of the HUGE horses at my parents Ranch but ponies she is a little scared of.
We took another ride on the train so Cooper could join us.
Of course she didn't mind at all.
Then it was time for the hay ride to the pumpkin patch.
Hummer decided to join us. He is such a sweet dog.
Daddy and his two little pumpkins!
Cooper was not ready to leave.....
he could have stayed all weekend.
That evening we had a VERY early Christmas.
Cooper hit the jackpot....his very own golf clubs.
He is all set, next time he will have to go with his Dad and Papa Jerry for a round of golf.
Georgia enjoyed getting her very own set of legos.
With so much energy still to burn Rob and I decided to take the kids to a nearby park. It was a long walk but worth it. Raleigh is so pretty.
It was pretty much dark by the time we got there but that didn't stop the kids from enjoying the amenities.
Papa Jerry had a hospital gala to attend that evening so we made it back in time to send him off in his penguin suit.
The next morning before we left we had the pleasure of attending their beautiful church. Georgia....
did not last long. But she and I got to listen to the service from the lobby.
It was a long afternoon of flights home.
But the kids did fantastic.
And we were able to meet up with AJ and Uncle J at the new Whiskey Cake for dinner
Its hard to believe the next time we head to Raleigh it will be with THREE kids.....should be an adventure.
