The real meaning of Christmas....

One of the Christmas cards we got (from the Reece family) had a great quote on it...and I thought it summed up this Christmas very well...
"Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before.
What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store.
What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.”

Most of us were snowed in this Christmas and our plans didn't go as planned...but regardless we all know the real meaning of Christmas and being stuck at home for 2 days with Cooper really reminded me of why we celebrate this wonderful day.
"He who has not Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree." ~Roy L. Smith

Despite the Blizzard like conditions are Christmas turned out wonderful....Rob finally made it home from the hosipital on Christmas morning (guess Santa was listening). So we had our little family Christmas just the 3 of us...Santa was even able to fit Cooper's new jungle gym in his sleigh

He loves the slide

Stockings are a HUGE deal on my side of the family....and Cooper seems to have gotten these genes...He loved digging into the stocking

hmm...what could this be

ah...big boy utensils...Look Dad

Of all the things we gave him though...this lint brush was his favorite

He kept hugging this monkey from the Houser family

The sun came out for Christmas Day so Cooper had to check it out!

He liked it for about 5 minutes

We had been planning on having a huge Christmas dinner with Rob's whole family....but since the roads were still bad some of them couldn't make it. But you know Cooper's Gigi she couldn't stand not seeing Coop on Christmas Day. She somehow convinced Cappy to load up the car and head down to Norman. We were so glad to see them....
I set the table using our china (you know you have to use it when you can)
I only broke one glass this time

Cappy was the 1st one to open his stocking

Uncle Bradley helped Cooper up onto the new jungle gym

Grandma Marian was even in from Bartlesville

Cooper gave Cappy a Ipod Shuffle to listen to while he is on his tractor

Rob's mom (Gigi) has always gave "Santa Bags" to her boys every Christmas...now its Cooper's turn.
And boy did she fill it...so full we couldn't tie it shut.

It was full of all kind of goodies...including a tricycle
I forgot to take a picture of him riding it (but we got tons of video)

It was so special of them to drive all the way down on the scary roads just to spend Christmas with us....that is what it is all about right? Family...I am lucky I married into such a great one.
