The first weekend in June we headed out to Lubbock, TX land of the Red Raiders for the wedding of our good friend Matt Allen and his beautiful bride Katie Rhode. We drove out Friday morning with the Varners. We checked into a really cool hotel near campus and Rob and I took a nap, kid free weekends do that to you. That night after the rehearsal dinner they hosted a Tailgate Party at this really cool Pavilion on campus. Katie is a Tech grad and her mom works for the University so they had pulled out all the bells and whistles including the Tech Mascots. There were more pictures of the games and karaoke but I had a camera malfunction.
The next morning the guys played in a pick up basketball game. Rob's team thought they were good but I think where they lacked in basketball skills they made up in heart.
We all hung out at the pool and had some of us girls had a nice lunch.
They had the wedding at an old church now converted to a event center called the legacy.
It was a beautiful ceremony
And the bride and groom were definitely glowing.
The reception was just down the hall so the party started immediately
Matt made sure he had some "home" in town.
We all even managed to get seats near each other.
John David looks very mad in this picture but he is only playing. He and Mary came in all the way from LA. It was so great to see them. Oklahoma misses them!
Of course the guys kept the dance floor busy.
