Its TGS time in Oklahoma!

This past weekend was one of our "big" tailgates for the Tailgating Sooners.
Uncle Zach cam e up for the weekend and spent Saturday morning getting the old Jeep up and running and Cooper was more than happy to help.
It was the annual shish-ka-Rob competition. And it did not disappoint. It was also Homecoming in Norman so those of us there in time headed up to Boyd St. to watch the Homecoming Parade. The kids were all in their TGS shirts and super excited.
I was a little disappointed in the lack of candy being thrown out (I was hoping I wasn't going to have to buy Halloween candy) but the kids didn't seem to notice.
Even Gabby figured out there were goodies being thrown out.
When we got back to the tailgate more friends were there and the competition had began. The bounce house was fully occupied.
Claire Elder and Gabby FINALLY met face to face. They are only a few weeks apart in age.
We left Mallen and Steven in charge of Coop and Meg.  Looks like they had them under control.
Jenny's best friend Esdra was down from FSJ, Canada and got to experience her first tailgate and college football game.
The shish-ka-bobs were some of the tastiest ever and after they were all prepared and sampled it was time to hand out the prizes.
3rd place- Wade Kovash
Maple & Bourbon Marinated Pork Loin wrapped in Bacon with Pineapple and Gorganzola cheese
 2nd Place- Bryson Varner
Bacon Wrapped Wild Turkey marinated in Brown Sugar Cream Cheese with Blue Cheese Butter Sauce
 1st Place- Mike Elder
Mike's Meatballs topped with Wingsauce
 Last Place- Steven Carter
Flaming Liberal
My favorite was Ted's Balsamic & Mustard Pork Chop, AJ's Cake Ball K-bobs
Apparently the shot Steven had to take for last place did not sit well in Rob's tummy.
Zach drove the Jeep to the tailgate and pulled it right up on the grass. It was the kids favorite. I think it might have even out played the bounce house.

 Gabby wanted in so bad.
Zach agreed to babysit for the night....NOT!
All the Hammett kiddos minus poor Jeremiah who was still at work
All these kids really do love each other.
Our official line-up for the tailgate.

yep you read that right....there will soon be 21 kids!!! The big question is who will be providing #22.
I can't believe how cool all these kiddos are. Some of them only see each other once a year but they play together like the see each other every day. Of course I am partial to #3 & #13
This weekend is another big tailgate OU vs. Notre Dame. I am sure the shirts will be in full force again.
